An Apprenticeship is a real job for a real employer. They learn on-the-job, undertaking qualifications while gaining essential work experience. Apprentices work towards nationally recognised qualifications and employers from all over the country recognise and value the benefits of an Apprenticeship.
Our Apprenticeships have been designed by industry, for industry, so they deliver the skills and qualifications that the relevant sector needs. Apprenticeships are delivered part on-the-job, and part off-the-job at a location convenient to the apprentice. In some cases, attendance at college may be required to obtain technical qualifications.
Apprenticeships are open to anyone over 16 living in England and not taking part in full-time education. There is no upper age limit. Entry requirements are flexible and vary according to the job role and sector. Funding in many cases is provided by the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) and the European Social Fund (ESF).
